Preschool Program

Building the foundation for lifelong learning - from infancy through VPK - with nurturing care and purposeful instruction.

More Than Daycare: A School from Day One

Kids Learning Center is committed to the education of children and their development. Our preschool program promises multiple experiences where children can acquire all the knowledge and skills necessary to enter primary school.

Our program makes it a priority to enhance the development of the child as a person through the integration of movement, expression, communication, and thinking. It also helps to develop enthusiasm, motivation, and disposition in everything we do - forming children that are active, creative, and dynamic.

Kids Learning Center is not a "daycare" but a school focused on providing instruction to children of all ages as young as infants. By age 3, our preschool students begin wearing uniforms and receiving monthly homework projects to engage the whole family in learning.

Florida's free kindergarten readiness program

Language, Math & Physical Development

Our preschool program focuses on teaching language concepts, vocabulary, and mathematical concepts, as well as developing children's physical gross and fine motor skills.

By the age of 3, our preschool students begin wearing uniforms and receiving monthly homework projects - designed to incorporate the family at home and engage the whole household in learning together.

Monthly Homework Projects

Monthly homework projects are sent home to engage the entire family in the child's learning journey, reinforcing concepts in a comfortable and familiar environment.

The Creative Curriculum

Kids Learning Center implements The Creative Curriculum, published by Teaching Strategies, Inc., built on research emphasizing the critical importance of the first four years of a child's life. The curriculum includes developmentally appropriate goals and objectives organized into four main domains, taught in thematic units every 3-5 weeks.

Social / Emotional

Promotes independence, self-confidence, and self-control. Children learn to make friends, navigate group interactions, and follow rules.

Physical

Develops large and small motor skills through purposeful movement, play, and hands-on activities.

Cognitive

Associated with thinking skills: children learn to solve problems, ask questions, and think critically.

Language

Children learn to communicate with others, listen actively, recognize letters and words, and begin writing for a purpose.

Tracking Each Child's Growth

We believe teachers should work with parents and families for the benefit of the child, documenting progress throughout the year.

Artwork Portfolios

Marker/crayon drawings, easel paintings, block structures: all documented with digital photos.

Writing Samples

Emergent writing samples, stringing and cutting experiences tracked throughout the year.

Assessments

Anecdotal records, screenings, informal/formal assessments, and teacher observations.

Early Intervention

If further evaluation is needed, we work with families to connect with the appropriate support agencies.
